WHY DOES EVERY SONG HAVE TO BE ABOUT DEATH?

Like everyone else in the Depeche Mode fan base, I can’t stop listening to the new single “Ghosts Again” on eternal loop. However, the lyrics and the video are incredibly sad. Even for “depressed mode” standards. They said the song was written before Fletch’s untimely death in May last year. But it serves as a eulogy to everyone we lost in recent years. Friends and family that we will see once we all become ghosts again.
